Milestones – Conference 2012: Preparation Teams Wanted!

In order to make the Freiburg doctoral conference “Milestones” attractive for even more outstanding doctoral candidates, we have changed the concept for this year’s conference. Participants will be allowed to choose from a broader range of topics and there will be much less work for the preparation teams!
The new concept consists of an interdisciplinary, international doctoral conference with four panels.

• The individual panels will be organized by teams (consisting of at least two doctoral candidates, if possible with an international candidate). The teams may choose either an academic topic or a practical topic concerning doctoral studies (e.g., career prospects, academic writing ...) for their panel. Teams that choose a practical topic are welcome to ask the IGA for help finding appropriate speakers.

• Each team will receive a small budget to cover the costs for the panel, e.g., for keynote lectures, workshops, or travel allowances for external doctoral candidates.

• Each team can/should take part in an exclusive workshop on project management (dates: 20/21 April). Participants in the workshop and the preparation team will receive a certificate for their efforts.

• The IGA will take care of the supporting program, catering, drinks, technical support, the program, public relations, etc. However, support from the teams is welcome!
